Mimarlıkta Deja Vu

Batıda mimarlığın tarih ile nasıl ilişkileneceğinin, hatta bu ilişkinin gerekli olup olmadığı tartışmaları; çok çeşitli ve derin düşünme şekillerinin ve uygulamaların yolunu açmıştır. Türkiye’nin mimarlık gündemindeki bu konu, çözümü gecikmiş bir problem olarak durmaktadır. Modern Mimari’de bilinçle kaçınılan tarihsel referanslar, Post Modern dönemde çeşitli biçimlerde kullanılmıştır. Modern mimarinin tekdüze oluşu eleştirisinin ardından; analoji, morfoloji, tipoloji araştırmaları başlamış, kente ve mimariye dair gizli şifreler, bu araştırmalarla deşifre edilip, kullanıma açılmıştır. Kullanıcı memnuniyeti vernaküler ölçekte araştırılmış; anıtsallık, kültür, tarih, kolektif bellek arayışları ve yeniden canlandırmalar; iyileştirme ve işlev dönüştürme çalışmalarına yönlenmiştir. Zaman ve mekân; tüm ideolojik ve biçimsel karşıtlıklarına rağmen her iki dönemde de, birbirinden kopmuştur. Türkiye’de modernizm ve eleştirileri, mimaride tam olarak karşılığını bulamadan, son dönemlerde tarihe dönüş, yeniden popülerleştirilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Yeniden canlandırmaya yönelik örneklerle mimarlıkla deja vu yaratılırken; zamandan, mekândan, bağlamdan, anlamdan, ölçekten uzak düşülmektedir. Tüm bu uygulamaların ardından, tarihten yararlanmanın koşullarının araştırma ve tartışmasının yeniden yapılması gerekliliği açıkça ortaya çıkmıştır. ABSTRACT The discussions on how architecture in the West associates with history and whether this relationship is necessary has lead the way to a wide variety of deep thinking styles and practices. This issue of Turkey's architectural agenda remains a delayed problem. Historical references that were consciously avoided in Modern Architecture were used in various forms in the Post Modern period. Following the criticism of the monotony of modern architecture; the researches of analogy, morphology and typology started, secret codes about the city and architecture were deciphered and exploited by these investigations. User satisfaction was investigated on a vernacular scale; monumentality, culture, history, search for collective memory and revitalization led to the studies of improvement and function conversion. Time and space were split from each other in both periods despite all their ideological and formal antagonisms. In Turkey, modernism and criticism have been attempting to be popularized again and return to history recently, before finding the exact meaning in architecture. While examples of revitalization have created deja vu in the architecture, it is thought away from time, space, context, meaning, and scale. Following all these applications, requirement of remaking research and discussion of the conditions of utilizing the history has emerged.
